Remembrance, Thoughts, and Sorrow
by
Richard F. Berrelez
I have often asked myself, "Why was her life on earth so short lived while many of us get to live such a long life?" Is there any good reason why many children leave us so soon? One time I was asked, "Why am I still alive, has God forgotten about me?" I did not know an answer to this question. At least nothing that could make sense to me.
Are our lives cut short because we don't deserve to live long? That can not be true, "What wrong have children done?" Do we live a long time because we deserve it or because we are being punished? I don't think the answer can be found in these questions. After much thought, I think I have found the answer to my question.
We live in a world where everything is falling apart. Throughout history our ancestors and many of us to this day do our part to keep our world intact. Some of us are able to do more than others for different reasons. Humanity was born into a world where everything was beautiful. A world with the resources to meet all of our needs.
To this day you can still see the beauty in a world that's falling apart. Our children are born beautiful and we can't seem to love them enough. Their lives can be cut short for different reasons. One of the reasons is that many people choose to destroy the beauty of our world and sometimes those same people choose to destroy the lives of our children.
Losing a child to a crime is an experience that can never be forgotten or losing someone you love to a crime. It is not an easy road to travel with the memory of such a crime. There is no moving on with your life. This becomes your life, it becomes part of you. You become a different person.
The Foundation has kept the memory of a special child alive and of equal importance it has served a very good purpose in the lives of many people and law enforcement. There are many types of Foundations doing great things and what makes ALIE a unique and special Foundation is the fact that Alie Berrelez gave birth to the ALIE Foundation through her death.
We respectfully offer our thanks and gratitude to every person that has been supportive of our efforts to prevent child abduction in the best way that we can. We are grateful for the many people who have kept us in their thoughts and prayers. We appreciate the support that we have received both emotionally and through the many monetary contributions and gifts from the heart.
Our mission and the road ahead of us continues before us and we are compelled to follow it and we are able to do so with your support. We continue to operate with your private contributions.
