Richard Berrelez I, is the founder and spokesperson for ALIE.

Richard incorporated ALIE on June 10th 1993 in memory of Alie Berrelez in the State of Colorado.

He has lived in Denver for half of his life. He moved to Denver from Milwaukee, Wisconsin but is a native of southwest Texas. He was born and raised near San Antonio in Frio County and is proud of his Native American ancestry.

After graduating from high school in Texas he took a job in Hondo, Texas repairing military airplanes used in the Navy. Later he worked at the San Antonio Airport building passenger jets for Swearingen Aviation.

During his early years in Colorado he attended Baptist Bible College West, which is now in California, where he earned his Bachelors of Arts Degree in Theology. Richard has been a public speaker since his early college years.

He is very active in the Foundation's mission. He has visited 48 states to provide the Foundation 's service of informative and educational presentations about stranger awareness issues and crimes on children. He has worked with purebred bloodhounds studying and understanding their behavior, personality, and instinct in trailing human scent. Through screenings of the dog's health, trailing potential, and training he has be able to place over 200 bloodhounds in law enforcement canine units in the country.

His work in the Foundation has been featured in Unsolved Mysteries, America's Most Wanted, People Magazine, Animal Planet's Breed All About It and Busted, the Spanish program, Sabado Gigante out of Miami, Florida, and several interviews with national news stations and newspapers.

Richard is well read on the American Wolf and the Wild Mustang which are american wild animals that he admires that are a great part of our country's history.
